Description

Copper tripeptide-3 (AHK-Cu) is a bioactive peptide with promotion of hair growth effect. Copper tripeptide-3 increases dermal cell proliferation and viability while increasing the deposition of collagen to renew the extracellular matrix. Copper tripeptide-3 stimulates the elongation of human hair follicles and proliferation of dermal papilla cells[1][2].

In Vitro

Copper tripeptide-3 (10-100 μM, 3 d) increases the growth and viability of dermal fibroblasts while stimulating the production of collagen in normal human dermal fibroblasts[2].
Copper tripeptide-3 (10 pM-10 nM, 24 h) significantly stimulates the proliferation of cultured dermal papilla cells[1].
Copper tripeptide-3 (10 nM, 72 h) reduces the number of apoptotic dermal papilla cells by 3.48%[1].
Copper tripeptide-3 (10 nM, 24 h) increases Bcl-2 expression and decreases Bax expression in dermal papilla cells[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

ELISA Assay[2]

Cell Line: Normal human dermal fibroblasts
Concentration: 10-100 μM
Incubation Time: 3 d
Result: Stimulated the formation of collagen type I by 300% compared to the control.

Western Blot Analysis[1]

Cell Line: Normal human dermal fibroblasts
Concentration: 10 nM
Incubation Time: 72 h
Result: Downregulated the levels of cleaved capase-3 and PARP cleavage fragments by 42.7% and 77.5%.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
