  3. Azalamellarin N

Azalamellarin N is an inhibitor of pyroptosis and has different inhibitory effects on different pyroptosis inducers. Azalamellarin N inhibits pyroptosis by targeting molecules that act upstream of NLRP3 inflammasome activation, rather than directly targeting components of the NLRP3 inflammasome. Inhibitory potency against different pyroptosis inducers: Nigericin (HY-127019) > R837 (HY-B0180).

In Vitro

Azalamellarin N (0.125-1 μM, pretreated 30 min) attenuates ATP- and nigericin-induced pyroptosis and activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Western Blot Analysis[1]

Cell Line: THP-1, J774.1
Concentration: 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1 μM
Incubation Time: pretreated 30 min
Result: Strongly inhibited ATP- and nigericin-induced IL-1β release, but only modestly inhibited R837-induced IL-1β release.
Inhibited Nigericin-induced cleavage of caspase-1.
Suppressed ATP-induced oligomerization of ASC to a similar extent to MCC950.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
