xCT Antibody (YA6191)

xCT Antibody (YA6191) is a rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to xCT. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, IP, ELISA assays, in the background of human, mouse, rat.

xCT is a heterodimeric transporter with SLC3A2 that functions as an antiporter by mediating the exchange of extracellular anionic L-cystine for intracellular L-glutamate. This sodium-independent, electroneutral (1:1 stoichiometry) transport is driven by high intracellular L-glutamate concentration and L-cystine reduction. It supplies L-cystine to maintain extracellular redox balance (L-cystine/L-cysteine) and intracellular glutathione levels critical for oxidative stress defense (by similarity). Additionally, xCT imports L-kynurenine to propagate anti-ferroptotic signals for L-cystine/glutathione homeostasis, and mediates placental N-acetyl-L-cysteine uptake to suppress oxidative stress/inflammation pathways. In vitro studies demonstrate L-aspartate transport capability (literature-supported). Proposed roles include neuroprotection via non-neuronal glutathione synthesis (astrocytes/meningeal cells) and direct involvement in pheomelanin production (by similarity).
