The related gene is a member of the aggrecan/versican proteoglycan family. The protein encoded is a large chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan and is a major component of the extracellular matrix. The protein is involved in cell adhesion, proliferation, proliferation, migration and angiorelated genesis and plays a central role in tissue morphorelated genesis and maintenance. Mutations in The related gene are the cause of Wagner syndrome type 1. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for The related gene.

  Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded rat brain tissue using Versican Core Protein Antibody. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 8 minutes. The tissues were blocked in QuickBlock for 20 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the primary antibody at 1/100 dilution in 4℃ overnight. The detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. Tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
