Description

ULK2 Antibody (YA4362) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to ULK2. It can be applicated for WB, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human, mouse, rat.

Background

ULK2 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in autophagy induction during starvation. It functions upstream of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase PIK3C3 to regulate autophagophore formation. As part of autophagy regulatory feedback loops, ULK2 acts both as a downstream effector and negative regulator of mTORC1 through interaction with RPTOR. Activated by AMPK-mediated phosphorylation, it also negatively regulates AMPK by phosphorylating its subunits PRKAA1, PRKAB2, and PRKAG1. Potential phosphorylation targets include ATG13/KIAA0652, FRS2, FRS3, and RPTOR, though these findings require further validation. Not implicated in ammonia-induced autophagy or cerebellar granule neuron (CGN) responses to low potassium. Plays an early role in neuronal differentiation and is essential for granule cell axon formation, potentially via Ras-like GTPase signaling and Rab5-mediated endocytic pathway regulation in developing axons.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
