Background

DcR2 is a receptor for the cytotoxic ligand TRAIL, featuring a truncated death domain that prevents it from inducing apoptosis but enables protection against TRAIL-mediated apoptosis. Its ability to induce the NF-kappa-B pathway is contradictory: some studies report it cannot, while others indicate it can.
