Description

TIMD4 Antibody (YA4427) is a Mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 monoclonal antibody, targeting to TIMD4.

Background

TIMD4 is a phosphatidylserine receptor that plays diverse roles in immune responses, including phagocytosis of apoptotic cells and T-cell regulation. It controls T-cell activation in a bimodal fashion: suppressing the activation of naive T-cells by inducing cell cycle arrest, while enhancing the proliferation of activated T-cells through AKT1 and ERK1/2 phosphorylation and downstream signaling pathways (by similar). Additionally, TIMD4 is involved in efferocytosis, the process by which phagocytic cells remove apoptotic cells. Mechanistically, it facilitates the engulfment of apoptotic cells or exogenous particles by anchoring them to phagocytes via direct binding to phosphatidylserine on apoptotic cells, while other engulfment receptors like MERTK efficiently recognize and mediate their ingestion. TIMD4 also promotes autophagy by suppressing NLRP3 inflammasome activity through activation of the LKB1/PRKAA1 pathway in a phosphatidylserine-dependent manner (by similar). In microbial infection, TIMD4 positively contributes to exosome-mediated trafficking of HIV-1 virus and its entry into immune cells.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
