TIA1 Antibody (YA3949)

TIA1 Antibody (YA3949) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to TIA1. It can be applicated for IHC-P, ICC/IF, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

TIA1 is an RNA-binding protein that regulates alternative pre-RNA splicing and mRNA translation by binding to uridine-rich (U-rich) RNA sequences. It preferentially binds to the IAS1 sequence in a U1 snRNP-dependent manner (By similar) and facilitates atypical 5' splice site recognition. TIA1 promotes the accumulation of FAS receptor transcripts containing exon 6 by binding to the 5' splice site region of intron 5, thereby inducing apoptosis (PubMed sources). Additionally, it modulates alternative splicing of COL2A1 exon 2 by binding to a conserved AU-rich cis element in intron 2 and may regulate transcription through interaction with an equivalent AT-rich genomic DNA element. In CFTR mRNA, TIA1 binds to a polypyrimidine-rich controlling element (PCE) to promote exon 9 inclusion, counteracting PTB1-mediated exon skipping. TIA1 also represses mRNA translation by binding to AU-rich elements (AREs) in 3' UTRs (By similar) and participates in cellular stress response by recruiting untranslated mRNAs to stress granules (SGs), leading to translational arrest. Its SG formation and recruitment are regulated by Zn²⁺ (By similar). Compared to the TIA long isoform, TIA1 exhibits enhanced splicing regulatory activity.
