Description

THAP11 Antibody (YA4426) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to THAP11. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

Background

THAP11 is a transcription factor with dual transcriptional activation and repression activities (PubMed:31905202) that also modulates chromatin accessibility (PubMed:38361031). In complex with HCFC1 and ZNF143, it regulates genes including AP2S1, ESCO2, OPHN1, RBL1, UBXN8, and ZNF32 (PubMed:26416877). By similarity, THAP11 may control expression of cytoplasmic and mitochondrial ribosomal protein genes, is essential for normal mitochondrial development/function, and regulates electron transport chain components. It maintains pluripotency in early embryonic cells (by promoting mitochondrial maturation to meet energy demands) and prevents premature cell cycle exit of retinal progenitor cells during retina development (potentially via mitochondrial effects). THAP11 governs cobalamin metabolism by regulating MMACHC expression (PubMed:28449119, PubMed:31905202), is required for brain development and neural precursor differentiation (by similarity), and modulates cell growth (PubMed:31905202).

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
