Background

TBL1 is an F-box-like protein involved in recruiting the ubiquitin/19S proteasome complex to nuclear receptor-regulated transcription units. It plays an essential role in nuclear receptor-mediated transcription activation, likely acting as an integral component of corepressor complexes that facilitate the recruitment of the 19S proteasome complex, leading to proteasomal degradation of transcription repressor complexes and enabling cofactor exchange.
