Tau Antibody (YA5817) is a rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to Tau. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, IP, ELISA assays, in the background of human, mouse, rat.

Tau is a protein that promotes microtubule assembly and stability, potentially involved in establishing and maintaining neuronal polarity. Its C-terminus binds axonal microtubules while the N-terminus interacts with neural plasma membrane components, indicating its role as a linker protein between these structures. Axonal polarity is predetermined by the localization of TAU/MAPT within the centrosome-defined cell body domain in neurons. Short Tau isoforms provide cytoskeletal plasticity, whereas longer isoforms may primarily contribute to its stabilization. Similar functions include microtubule binding and neuronal morphology regulation (by similar).
