Description

SorLA Antibody (YA5066) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to SorLA. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

Background

SorLA, a sorting receptor, orchestrates the correct cellular localization of various proteins and is intricately involved in Golgi apparatus-endosome sorting along with the AP-1 complex. Notably, SorLA serves as a sorting receptor for APP, regulating its intracellular trafficking and preventing its transit through late endosomes, thereby curbing the generation of amyloid-beta peptides. Additionally, SorLA may facilitate the sorting of newly produced amyloid-beta peptides to lysosomes for catabolism. Beyond its role in Alzheimer's-related processes, SorLA acts as a sorting receptor for multiple proteins, including the BDNF receptor NTRK2/TRKB, GDNF, ERBB2/HER2, lipoprotein lipase LPL, APOA5, insulin receptor INSR, and CLCF1-CRLF1 bound to the CNTFR receptor. The receptor's diverse interactions underscore its involvement in essential cellular functions, ranging from neurotrophic signaling to lipid metabolism, and its potential impact on pathological processes such as Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis, and cancer.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
