SOCS-1 Antibody (YA5407) is a Mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to SOCS-1.

SOCS-1 is a crucial negative regulator of type I and type II interferon (IFN) signaling, as well as other cytokines including IL2, IL4, IL6, and leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF). It downregulates cytokine signaling by inhibiting the JAK/STAT pathway through binding to JAK proteins and IFNGR1, thereby suppressing their kinase activity. In vitro, SOCS-1 also inhibits Tec protein-tyrosine activity. It likely functions as the substrate recognition component of an ECS (Elongin BC-CUL2/5-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, facilitating ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. By similarity, SOCS-1 is involved in regulating IFN-gamma (IFNG)-mediated sensory neuron survival.

  Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded mouse spleen tissue using SOCS-1 Antibody. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 8 minutes. The tissues were blocked in QuickBlock for 20 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the primary antibody at 1/100 dilution in 4℃ overnight. The detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. Tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
