It mediates the anti-inflammatory activities of TGF-β and BMP by directly interacting with PEL1 to suppress IL1R-TLR signaling, thereby inhibiting NF-κB activation, nuclear transport, and NF-κB-mediated expression of pro-inflammatory genes.
