Background

SARS-M is a component of the viral envelope that plays a central role in virus morphogenesis and assembly via its interactions with other viral proteins (By similarity). It regulates the localization of the S protein at the cis-Golgi, the site of virus budding (PubMed:33229438), possibly by binding to the cytoplasmic c-terminus of S (PubMed:33229438).
