Description

Rictor Antibody (YA5045) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to Rictor. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human, mouse, monkey.

Background

RICTOR is a core component of the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 2 (mTORC2), which relays growth factor signals to pathways governing proliferation, cytoskeletal organization, lipogenesis, and anabolic metabolism. mTORC2 phosphorylates and activates AGC kinase family members (e.g., AKT, PKC, and SGK1) and, unlike mTORC1, is insensitive to nutrient availability. RICTOR likely functions as a molecular scaffold within mTORC2 and confers FKBP12-rapamycin insensitivity. The complex mediates context-dependent phosphorylation of AKT1 (e.g., at Thr-450, Ser-473) for full activation, and phosphorylates SGK1 (Ser-422) and PRKCA (Ser-657) (by similar). It also regulates insulin signaling (e.g., via FBXW8 and IGF2BP1 phosphorylation) (by similar) and modulates actin cytoskeleton dynamics through Rho GTPases.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
