Description

PSAP Antibody (YA3690) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to PSAP. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human, rat.

Background

PSAP is a low-molecular-mass non-enzymatic protein involved in the lysosomal degradation of sphingolipids. Specifically, saposin-A and saposin-C stimulate the hydrolysis of glucosylceramide by β-glucosylceramidase (EC 3.2.1.45) and galactosylceramide by β-galactosylceramidase (EC 3.2.1.46), with saposin-C forming an activated complex with the enzyme and acidic lipids rather than solubilizing the substrate. Saposin-B promotes the degradation of galacto-cerebroside sulfate (via arylsulfatase A, EC 3.1.6.8), GM1 gangliosides (via β-galactosidase, EC 3.2.1.23), and globotriaosylceramide (via α-galactosidase A, EC 3.2.1.22) by forming substrate-solubilizing complexes. Saposin-D acts as a specific activator of sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase (EC 3.1.4.12). Additionally, PSAP exhibits myelinotrophic and neurotrophic effects mediated by G-protein-coupled receptors GPR37 and GPR37L1, leading to ligand internalization and ERK phosphorylation signaling. by similar: Mechanisms of sphingolipid-metabolizing enzyme activation and receptor-mediated signaling pathways.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
