PGC1 alpha Antibody (YA5018) is a Mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to PGC1 alpha.

PGC-1α is a transcriptional coactivator for steroid receptors and nuclear receptors (e.g., PPARG and thyroid hormone receptors), greatly enhancing their transcriptional activity on the uncoupling protein promoter. It regulates key mitochondrial genes involved in adaptive thermogenesis and serves as a central coordinator of metabolic reprogramming by modulating genes related to glucose and fatty acid metabolism. PGC-1α is essential for gluconeogenesis, collaborating with FOXO1 to promote hepatic gluconeogenic programs. In skeletal muscle, it induces PERM1 expression in an ESRRA-dependent manner. It also integrates circadian rhythms with energy metabolism (by similar), coactivating RORA and RORC to regulate oscillatory expression of clock genes (e.g., BMAL1 and NR1D1) and metabolic genes (e.g., PDK4 and PEPCK) (by similar).
