Background

The related gene encodes the rate-limiting enzyme of the polyamine biosynthesis pathway which catalyzes ornithine to putrescine. The activity level for the enzyme varies in response to growth-promoting stimuli and exhibits a high turnover rate in comparison to other mammalian proteins. Originally localized to both chromosomes 2 and 7, the related gene encoding The enzyme has been determined to be located on 2p25, with a pseudorelated gene located on 7q31-qter. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.

  • Western blot analysis was performed on extracts from K562 (lane 1, 15 μg), PC-3 (lane 2, 15 μg), HepG2 (lane 3, 15 μg), and MCF-7 (lane 4, 15 μg) using ODC1 Rabbit mAb.Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% non-fat milk in TBST at 4°C overnight.The primary antibody (1:1000 dilution) and the loading control antibody (GAPDH, HY-P80137, 1:80000 dilution) were incubated in 5% non-fat milk in TBST for 1 hour at 37°C.Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (1:20000 dilution) was then applied for 40 minutes at 37°C.
