Myosin Light Chain 2 Antibody (YA278) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to Myosin Light Chain 2.

MYL2 is a contractile protein involved in heart development and function. Upon phosphorylation, it modulates cross-bridge cycling kinetics and cardiac muscle contraction by enhancing myosin lever arm stiffness and promoting myosin head diffusion, thereby increasing maximum contraction force and calcium sensitivity of contraction. These effects collectively slow myosin kinetics and prolong the duty cycle, leading to cooperative recruitment of myosins to actin binding sites to sustain thin filament activation, fine-tuning myofilament calcium sensitivity to force (By similarity). During cardiogenesis, it plays an early role in cardiac contractility by promoting cardiac myofibril assembly (By similarity).

  Western blot analysis of extracts from M-muscle (lane 1) and M-spleen (lane 2) and M-heart (lane 3) using Myosin Light Chain 2 antibody. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% nonfat powdered milk in PBST for 2 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (1/1000) and loading control antibody (GAPDH, 1/3000) was diluted with 5% nonfat powdered milk in PBST at 4°C overnight. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (1/8,000) was incubated for 45min at room temperature.
