Description

MOV10 Antibody (YA1669) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to MOV10.

Background

MOV10 is a 5' to 3' RNA helicase involved in diverse cellular processes, including mRNA metabolism, translation regulation, modulation of viral infectivity, retrotransposition inhibition, and synaptic transmission. It plays a pivotal role in innate antiviral immunity by promoting type I interferon production, specifically utilizing IKKepsilon/IKBKE to activate IRF3. MOV10 blocks HIV-1 replication post-entry and counteracts HIV-1 Vif-mediated APOBEC3G degradation via helicase activity. It also inhibits hepatitis B virus replication by binding HBV RNA. The protein contributes to UPF1-mediated mRNA decay and is essential for miRNA-driven gene silencing, including translational repression and RISC-mediated mRNA cleavage. Collaborating with FMR1, it fine-tunes AGO2-dependent miRNA repression and, alongside TUT4/TUT7, restricts LINE-1 retrotransposition. During brain development, MOV10 suppresses retroelements in the nucleus while regulating cytoskeletal mRNAs for neurite outgrowth (by similar). It may function as an mRNP clearance factor and is required for hepatitis delta virus RNA-directed transcription/replication.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
