Description

LAMP1 Antibody (YA3755) is a Mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 monoclonal antibody, targeting to LAMP1.

Background

LAMP1 is a lysosomal membrane glycoprotein that plays crucial roles in lysosome biogenesis, lysosomal pH regulation, autophagy, and cholesterol homeostasis. It acts as a key regulator of lysosomal lumen pH by directly inhibiting the proton channel TMEM175, facilitating lysosomal acidification for optimal hydrolase activity. LAMP1 is also essential for NK-cell cytotoxicity, participating in cytotoxic granule movement to the cell surface and perforin trafficking to lytic granules, while protecting NK-cells from degranulation-associated damage caused by their own cytotoxic granule content. Additionally, LAMP1 presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins. In microbial infections, it serves as a receptor for the Lassa virus glycoprotein and promotes virus-host membrane fusion in less acidic endosomes. By similar function, LAMP1 supports FURIN-mediated cleavage of the mumps virus fusion protein F by interacting with both FURIN and the unprocessed form of the viral protein F.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
