Description

IκB-α Antibody (YA5889) is a rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to IκB-α. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, IP, ELISA assays, in the background of human, mouse, rat.

Background

IkB alpha, a pivotal regulator in cellular responses, exerts its inhibitory influence by sequestering dimeric NF-kappa-B/REL complexes in the cytoplasm, thereby impeding their nuclear translocation and subsequent activation of transcription. This intricate control involves masking the nuclear localization signals of RELA/p65 and NFKB1/p50. Upon cellular stimulation by immune and pro-inflammatory cues, IkB alpha undergoes phosphorylation, triggering ubiquitination and degradation. This orchestrated process liberates the dimeric RELA, allowing its translocation to the nucleus for transcriptional activation. IkB alpha engages in a complex interplay with various proteins, such as RELA, NKIRAS1, NKIRAS2, RWDD3 isoforms, PRMT2, PRKACA, MEFV, and DDRGK1, highlighting its versatile interactions and regulatory roles in diverse cellular pathways.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
