HP1α Antibody (YA5465) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to HP1α. It can be applicated for ICC/IF, WB, IHC-P assays, in the background of human, mouse, rat.

CBX5 is a component of heterochromatin that recognizes and binds histone H3 tails methylated at 'Lys-9' (H3K9me), leading to epigenetic repression. However, it is excluded from chromatin when 'Tyr-41' of histone H3 is phosphorylated (H3Y41ph). CBX5 may contribute to the association of heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane through interactions with the lamin-B receptor (LBR). Additionally, it is involved in the formation of kinetochores via interaction with the MIS12 complex subunit NSL1 and is required for the formation of the inner centromere.
