Description

HBcAg Antibody (YA910) is a Mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 monoclonal antibody, targeting to HBcAg.

Background

HBcAg self-assembles to form an icosahedral capsid. Most capsids are large particles with T=4 icosahedral symmetry, composed of 240 copies of the capsid protein, while a smaller fraction forms T=3 particles consisting of 180 capsid proteins. Incoming capsids are transported to the nucleus via microtubules. Phosphorylation of the capsid is believed to expose a nuclear localization signal in its C-terminal region, enabling binding to the nuclear pore complex through importin (karyopherin-) alpha and beta. The capsids are imported intact into the nuclear basket, where they likely interact with NUP153. Only mature capsids containing the viral genome can release viral DNA and capsid proteins into the nucleoplasm, whereas immature capsids remain trapped in the basket. The capsids encapsulate pre-genomic RNA and the P protein. Reverse transcription of pre-genomic RNA into DNA occurs while the capsid is still cytoplasmic. The capsid can then target the nucleus to supply additional genomes for transcription or bud through the endoplasmic reticulum to generate new virions.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
