Description	Glutamate Receptor 1 (AMPA Subtype) Antibody (YA407) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to Glutamate Receptor 1 (AMPA Subtype).
Background	Glutamate receptor 1 is an ionotropic glutamate receptor that functions as a ligand-gated cation channel, activated by L-glutamate and glutamatergic agonists such as alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA), quisqualic acid, and kainic acid. L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. Binding of L-glutamate induces a conformational change, opening the cation channel and converting the chemical signal into an electrical impulse upon entry of monovalent and divalent cations like sodium and calcium. The receptor rapidly desensitizes and enters a transient inactive state with bound agonist (By similarity). In the presence of CACNG2, CACNG4, CACNG7, or CACNG8, it exhibits resensitization, characterized by delayed current flux accumulation during continuous L-glutamate application. CNIH2 blocks resensitization by interacting with CACNG8 in CACNG8-containing AMPA receptor complexes. Calcium (Ca²⁺) permeability depends on subunit composition, with heteromeric channels containing edited GRIA2 being calcium-impermeable. The receptor is also permeable to other divalent cations (e.g., strontium²⁺ and magnesium²⁺) and monovalent cations (e.g., potassium(1+) and lithium(1+)) (By similarity).
