Description

GATA6 Antibody (YA5199) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to GATA6. It can be applicated for WB assays, in the background of human.

Background

GATA6 is a transcriptional activator that regulates the expression of SEMA3C and PLXNA2 and is involved in gene regulation specifically in the gastric epithelium, potentially protecting epithelial cells from bacterial infection. In cardiac development, it participates in bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)-mediated cardiac-specific gene expression and binds to BMP response element (BMPRE) DNA sequences (By similarity). In human skin, GATA6 controls several physiological processes contributing to the homeostasis of the upper pilosebaceous unit, triggering ductal and sebaceous differentiation while limiting cell proliferation and lipid production to prevent hyperseborrhoea. It mediates the effects of retinoic acid on sebocyte proliferation, differentiation, and lipid production, and contributes to immune regulation and antimicrobial responses by modulating anti-inflammatory (e.g., IL10) and pro-inflammatory (e.g., IL6, TLR2, TLR4, IFNG) gene expression. Additionally, GATA6 activates TGFB1 signaling to regulate interfollicular epidermal fate.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
