Description

ETK Antibody (YA4755) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to ETK. It can be applicated for WB, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

Background

ETK is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that plays central yet diverse modulatory roles in signaling processes regulating actin reorganization, cell migration, proliferation, survival, adhesion, and apoptosis. It participates in transduction stimulated by growth factor receptors, cytokine receptors, G-protein coupled receptors, antigen receptors, and integrins—inducing tyrosine phosphorylation of BCAR1 upon integrin regulation. Its activation by integrins is mediated by PTK2/FAK1, a key player in integrin signaling for actin cytoskeleton and motility control. ETK is critical for TNF-induced angiogenesis and implicated in TEK/FLT1 receptor signaling (essential for angiogenesis). It enables STAT3 phosphorylation (a differentiation-related transcription factor) and IL6-induced differentiation. ETK also programs adaptive cytoprotection against extracellular stress in salivary epithelial cells, brain endothelial cells, and dermal fibroblasts. Potential roles include endocytosis regulation via interaction with endosomal protein RUFY1, hematopoietic cell growth/differentiation, and signal transduction in endocardial/arterial endothelial cells.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
