Dynactin 1(N-term) Antibody (YA5180) is a Mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to Dynactin 1(N-term).

Dynactin 1 is a component of the dynactin complex that activates the molecular motor dynein for ultra-processive transport along microtubules (By similarity). It plays a key role in dynein-mediated retrograde transport of vesicles and organelles along microtubules by recruiting and tethering dynein to microtubules, thereby linking specific cargos, microtubules, and dynein. Dynactin 1 is essential for targeting dynein to microtubule plus ends, recruiting dynein to membranous cargos, and enhancing dynein processivity (the ability to move along a microtubule for long distances without detaching). It can also act as a brake to slow dynein motility along microtubules. Additionally, Dynactin 1 regulates microtubule stability by promoting microtubule formation, nucleation, and polymerization while inhibiting microtubule catastrophe in neurons. It enhances microtubule stability along axons by binding both microtubules and tubulin. Furthermore, Dynactin 1 contributes to metaphase spindle orientation, centriole cohesion, and subdistal appendage organization and function. Its KIF3A-dependent recruitment to the centriole is critical for maintaining centriole cohesion and subdistal appendage formation, as well as microtubule anchoring at the mother centriole. Dynactin 1 also plays a role in primary cilia formation.
