Dnmt3a Antibody (YA475) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to Dnmt3a.
Background

Dnmt3a is a crucial DNA methyltransferase required for genome-wide de novo methylation and essential for establishing DNA methylation patterns during development. It coordinates DNA methylation with histone methylation, modifies DNA in a non-processive manner, and can methylate non-CpG sites. Dnmt3a preferentially methylates the DNA linker between two nucleosomal cores but is inhibited by histone H1 (by similar). It plays a role in paternal and maternal imprinting and is necessary for methylation at most imprinted loci in germ cells (by similar). Additionally, Dnmt3a acts as a transcriptional corepressor for ZBTB18 and actively represses transcription by recruiting HDAC activity (by similar). It is recruited to trimethylated 'Lys-36' of histone H3 (H3K36me3) sites (by similar) and exhibits weak auto-methylation activity on Cys-710 in the absence of DNA (by similar).
