DHRS1 is an NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase that catalyzes the reduction of steroids (such as estrone, androstene-3,17-dione, and cortisone) as well as prostaglandin E1, isatin, and xenobiotics in vitro. It may play a role in steroid and/or xenobiotic metabolism. by similar: The enzyme's function is associated with steroid metabolism and may be involved in xenobiotic detoxification.
