Description

Cytochrome C Antibody (YA5422) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to Cytochrome C. It can be applicated for WB, ICC/IF, IHC-P assays, in the background of human, mouse, rat, chicken.

Background

CYCS is an electron carrier protein. The oxidized form of the cytochrome c heme group accepts an electron from the cytochrome c1 subunit of cytochrome reductase and transfers it to the cytochrome oxidase complex, the final protein carrier in the mitochondrial electron-transport chain. Additionally, CYCS plays a role in apoptosis. Inhibition of anti-apoptotic members or activation of pro-apoptotic members of the Bcl-2 family alters mitochondrial membrane permeability, leading to the release of cytochrome c into the cytosol. Binding of cytochrome c to Apaf-1 triggers caspase-9 activation, which then accelerates apoptosis by activating other caspases. by similar: electron transport chain function and apoptosis regulation mechanisms.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
