CX3CR1 Antibody (YA4051) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG2a antibody, targeting to CX3CR1. It can be applicated for ICC/IF, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

Background

CX3CR1 is a receptor for the C-X3-C chemokine fractalkine (CX3CL1), expressed on various early leukocytes. The CX3CR1-CX3CL1 signaling pathway exerts diverse functions in immune response, inflammation, cell adhesion, and chemotaxis. It mediates cell migratory functions (by similar) and recruits natural killer (NK) cells to inflamed tissues (by similar). In atherogenesis, it regulates inflammation by mediating macrophage and monocyte recruitment to atherosclerotic plaques and promoting cell survival (by similar). In airway inflammation, it supports the survival of interleukin 2-producing T helper (Th2) cells in the lung (by similar). It also facilitates the migration of circulating monocytes to non-inflamed tissues, where they differentiate into macrophages and dendritic cells (by similar). CX3CR1 may negatively regulate angiogenesis, likely by promoting macrophage chemotaxis. In the central nervous system (CNS), it plays a key role in microglial inflammatory response and synapse maturation (by similar), restraining microglia-mediated parenchymal damage (by similar). During brain development, it participates in synaptic pruning, where microglia eliminate excess synapses (by similar), essential for circuit connectivity maturation (by similar). It regulates gut microbiota by controlling immunity against intestinal bacteria and fungi (by similar), with expression in lamina propria dendritic cells that capture bacteria for defense (by similar). In mononuclear phagocytes (MNPs), it induces antifungal IgG responses to protect against disseminated Candida infections (by similar). Additionally, CX3CR1 acts as a receptor for CCL26, inducing chemotaxis. In microbial infection, it serves as a coreceptor with CD4 for HIV-1 envelope protein, potentially exhibiting stronger coreceptor activity than isoform 1.
