FSP27/CIDEC Antibody (YA911) is a Mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to FSP27/CIDEC.

Background

CIDEC is a lipid transferase specifically expressed in white adipose tissue, promoting unilocular lipid droplet formation by mediating lipid droplet fusion. This fusion facilitates lipid droplet enlargement, restricting lipolysis and favoring lipid storage. Localized on lipid droplet surfaces and at contact sites between droplets, CIDEC mediates atypical fusion through liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS), enabling directional net neutral lipid transfer from smaller to larger droplets—a process potentially driven by internal pressure differences between contacting droplets. Its neutral lipid transfer and droplet enlargement functions are activated by interaction with PLIN1. By similarity, CIDEC may also act as a CEBPB coactivator in white adipose tissue to regulate expression of downstream targets like SOCS1, SOCS3, TGFB1, TGFBR1, ID2, and XDH. Overexpression in preadipocytes induces apoptosis or increases susceptibility to apoptosis triggered by serum deprivation or TGFB treatment.
