Description

CD86 Antibody (YA4009) is a Mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 monoclonal antibody, targeting to CD86.

Background

CD86 is a receptor involved in the costimulatory signal essential for T-lymphocyte proliferation and interleukin-2 production by binding CD28 or CTLA-4. It may play a critical role in the early events of T-cell activation and costimulation of naive T-cells, such as deciding between immunity and anergy within 24 hours after activation. Additionally, it regulates B-cell function, influencing IgG(1) production levels. Upon CD40 engagement, it activates the NF-kappa-B signaling pathway via phospholipase C and protein kinase C activation (by similarity). CD86 interferes with its own clustering, acting as a negative regulator of T-cell activation; (Microbial infection) serves as a receptor for adenovirus subgroup B.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
