CD166 Antibody (YA4252) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to CD166. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

CD166 is a cell adhesion molecule that mediates both heterotypic cell-cell contacts through its interaction with CD6 and homotypic cell-cell contacts. It promotes T-cell activation and proliferation via interactions with CD6 and contributes to the formation and maturation of the immunological synapse. CD166 also mediates homotypic interactions with ALCAM-expressing cells and acts as a ligand for the LILRB4 receptor, enhancing LILRB4-mediated inhibition of T-cell proliferation. It is essential for normal hematopoietic stem cell engraftment in the bone marrow and mediates dendritic cell attachment to endothelial cells via homotypic interactions, while inhibiting endothelial cell migration and promoting endothelial tube formation. CD166 plays a role in the organization of the lymph vessel network and hematopoiesis, maintaining normal numbers of hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow. By similarity, it promotes in vitro osteoblast proliferation and differentiation, as well as neurite extension, axon growth, and guidance, with retinal ganglion cell axons preferentially growing on ALCAM-containing surfaces. Additionally, CD166 inhibits membrane-bound isoform activities by competing for interaction partners, suppresses cell attachment via homotypic interactions, and promotes endothelial cell migration while inhibiting tube formation.
