VE-Cadherin Antibody (YA3491) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to VE-Cadherin.

CD144/VE Cadherin is a calcium-dependent cell adhesion protein (By similarity). It preferentially interacts with itself in a homophilic manner in connecting cells, potentially contributing to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types (PubMed:21269602). This cadherin may play an important role in endothelial cell biology by controlling the cohesion and organization of intercellular junctions (By similarity). It associates with alpha-catenin, forming a link to the cytoskeleton (PubMed:10861224). In endothelial cells, it acts as a cell junctional complex anchor for AMOTL2 and MAGI1, coupling actin fibers to cell junctions (By similarity). It collaborates with KRIT1 and PALS1 to establish and maintain proper endothelial cell polarity and vascular lumen (By similarity). These effects are mediated by the recruitment and activation of the Par polarity complex and RAP1B (PubMed:20332120). It is required for the activation of PRKCZ and the localization of phosphorylated PRKCZ, PARD3, TIAM1, and RAP1B to cell junctions (PubMed:20332120). It associates with CTNND1/p120-catenin to regulate CADH5 endocytosis (By similarity).
