Description	BUB1 Antibody (YA1567) is a rabbit-derived non-conjugated IgG antibody (Clone NO.: YA1567), targeting BUB1, with a predicted molecular weight of 122 kDa (observed band size: 122 kDa). BUB1 Antibody (YA1567) can be used for WB, IHC-P experiment in human, mouse, rat background.
Background	BUB1 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase that performs two crucial functions during mitosis: it is essential for spindle-assembly checkpoint signaling and correct chromosome alignment. It plays a key role in the assembly of checkpoint proteins at the kinetochore, being required for the subsequent localization of CENPF, BUB1B, CENPE, and MAD2L1. BUB1 is necessary for the kinetochore localization of PLK1 and promotes centromeric enrichment of AUKRB in prometaphase. It plays an important role in defining SGO1 localization, thereby affecting sister chromatid cohesion, and promotes the centromeric localization of TOP2A. BUB1 acts as a substrate for APC/C-Cdh1 and is necessary for proper chromosome segregation, with its binding to BUB3 being essential for this function. It can regulate chromosome segregation in a kinetochore-independent manner and phosphorylate BUB3. The BUB1-BUB3 complex inhibits APC/C when the spindle-assembly checkpoint is activated by phosphorylating its activator CDC20, thereby suppressing APC/C's ubiquitin ligase activity. This complex can also phosphorylate MAD1L1. BUB1's kinase activity is critical for inhibiting APC/CCDC20 and ensuring chromosome alignment but does not play a major role in spindle-checkpoint activity. Additionally, BUB1 mediates cell death in response to chromosome missegregation and suppresses spontaneous tumorigenesis.
