Description

Blimp-1 Antibody (YA4747) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to Blimp-1. It can be applicated for WB, ELISA assays, in the background of human, mouse.

Background

Blimp-1 is a transcription factor that mediates transcriptional programs in various innate and adaptive immune tissue-resident lymphocyte T cell types, including tissue-resident memory T (Trm), natural killer (trNK), and natural killer T (NKT) cells, while negatively regulating genes promoting egress of tissue-resident T-cell populations from non-lymphoid organs. It plays a role in the development, retention, and long-term establishment of adaptive and innate tissue-resident lymphocyte T cells in non-lymphoid organs (e.g., skin, gut, liver, kidney), potentially providing immediate immunological protection against reactivating infections or viral reinfection (By similarity). Blimp-1 specifically binds the PRDI element in the beta-interferon gene promoter and drives B-lymphocyte maturation into Ig-secreting cells. It associates with the transcriptional repressor ZNF683 at chromatin promoter regions (By similarity) and binds the IRF8 promoter to repress its transcription, thereby promoting osteoclast differentiation factors such as NFATC1 and EEIG1 (By similarity).

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
