Description

BAFF Antibody (YA1510) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to BAFF.

Background

BAFF is a cytokine that binds to TNFRSF13B/TACI and TNFRSF17/BCMA. TNFSF13/APRIL also binds to these two receptors. Together, they form a 2 ligands - 2 receptors pathway involved in stimulating B- and T-cell function and regulating humoral immunity. Additionally, BAFF promotes the survival of mature B-cells and B-cell responses through a third B-cell-specific receptor, BAFFR/BR3. Isoform 2 appears to inhibit the secretion and bioactivity of isoform 1. In autoimmune and proliferative B-cell diseases, BAFF acts as a transcription factor for its own parent gene in association with the NF-kappa-B p50 subunit. The presence of Delta4BAFF is essential for soluble BAFF release by IFNG/IFN-gamma-stimulated monocytes and for B-cell survival. It can directly or indirectly regulate the differential expression of numerous genes involved in innate immune responses and apoptosis regulation. by similar: TNFSF13/APRIL also binds to the same two receptors.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
