It enhances glucose uptake in muscle via SLC2A4/GLUT4 translocation, promotes autophagy (through ATG1/ULK1 and WDR45 activation), and modulates mitochondrial dynamics (via FOXO3 phosphorylation). PRKAA1 also regulates Wnt signaling (by stabilizing CTNNB1), circadian rhythms (via CRY1 destabilization), and stress-responsive transcription (through H2BS36ph). Key roles include lipid metabolism control (inactivating ACACA/ACACB/LIPE), mTORC1 inhibition (phosphorylating TSC2/RPTOR/WDR24), and lysosomal biogenesis (via TFEB/TFE3 nuclear translocation upon FNIP1 phosphorylation).
