ADAMTS5 Antibody (YA3480) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to ADAMTS5.
Background

ADAMTS5, a metalloproteinase, assumes a crucial role in connective tissue organization, development, inflammation, and cell migration. Functioning as an extracellular matrix (ECM) degrading enzyme, ADAMTS5 exhibits proteolytic activity directed at the hyalectan group of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans (CSPGs), including ACAN, VCAN, BCAN, and NCAN. Cleavage within the hyalectans occurs at Glu-Xaa recognition motifs. This metalloproteinase plays a pivotal role in embryonic development, influencing limb and cardiac morphogenesis, as well as skeletal muscle development through its remodeling properties on VCAN. Notably, ADAMTS5 facilitates myoblast contact and fusion by cleaving VCAN in the pericellular matrix surrounding myoblasts, a process crucial for skeletal muscle development and regeneration. Furthermore, it contributes to the development of brown adipose tissue and the browning of white adipose tissue, emphasizing its diverse roles in tissue development. ADAMTS5 also plays a significant role in T-lymphocyte migration from draining lymph nodes, particularly following viral infection.
