Description

7-Methyladenine (N7-Methyladenine), a methylated analog of Adenine (HY-B0152), is a biomarker of DNA damage from exposure to methylating agents[1].

In Vitro

The higher acidity of 7-Methyladenine leads to its enzymatic cleavage from damaged DNA, and due their instability as nucleosides, it is therefore possible to isolate and determine these methyladenines as simple nucleobases[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

The concentration of 7-Methyladenine is increased in the urine of rats exposed to methylating agents such as dimethylnitrosamine, N-nitroso-N-methylurea, methylnitronitrosoguanidine and dimethyl sulfate[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
