    N-Acetyl-L-arginine
    1 Publications Verification

    Ac-Arg-OH

    Endogenous Metabolite Others
N-Acetyl-L-arginine (Ac-Arg-OH) is one of the guanidino compounds found elevated in the serum of a hemodialyzed renal insufficient (uremic) pediatric population. N-Acetyl-L-arginine shows synergistic activity with glycine buffer. N-Acetyl-L-arginine suppresses the aggregation of intravenous immunoglobulins with a minimum decrease in transition temperature. N-Acetyl-L-arginine dramatically reduces IL-1 expression in the presence of silicone oil. N-Acetyl-L-arginine also demonstrates colloidal stability .

  • HY-130325

    NO Synthase Neurological Disease
α-Guanidinoglutaric acid is a guanidino compound first found in cobaltinduced epileptogenic focus tissue in the cerebral cortex of cats. α-Guanidinoglutaric acid induces epileptic seizures in rats after intraventricular administration .

NO Synthase Cardiovascular Disease Neurological Disease Inflammation/Immunology
Guanidino ethyl disulfide (GED) (Compound 23) is a NO Synthase (NOS) inhibitor with EC50s of 110, 630 and 180  μM for iNOS, eNOS and bNOS, respectivly. Guanidino ethyl disulfide effectively inhibits nitrite production in J774.2 macrophages. Guanidino ethyl disulfide can be used for circulatory shock, inflammation and neurological diseases research .

    Histamine Receptor Endocrinology
DA 4643 (hydrochloride) is an H2 receptor antagonist with the chemical name 2-guanidino-4 (3-methylaminomethyleneiminophenyl) thiazole dihydrochloride. It has a weak interaction with cytochrome P-450 and has a less inhibitory effect on P-450 than cimetidine and tiotidine. DA 4643 (hydrochloride) is able to inhibit both enzymatic and non-enzymatic lipid peroxidation reactions. This inhibition may not be achieved by inhibiting agent metabolizing enzymes, but rather due to the antioxidant properties of the compound itself. Compared with other H2 receptor antagonists such as cimetidine, ranitidine and tiotidine, DA 4643 (hydrochloride) shows a unique effect in lipid peroxidation inhibition. These properties make DA 4643 (hydrochloride) a potential H2 receptor antagonist with multiple mechanisms of action.
